We did it! You helped me win the Republican Primary for County Board!

In seriousness, this was an uncontested race, so the bar for success was set low. However, the motivation that has driven Republicans to the polls in other states --and driven some Democrats to vote Republican!!-- is present in St. Clair county. As I visited the several precincts within the new District 2, I saw and heard voters' frustrations with Democrat's policies and request Republican ballots. I heard from poll watchers that this happened multiple times throughout the day.

Illinois has been managed by Democrat politicians for decades.

St. Clair county has had a Democrat chairman and majority Democrat county board since the last census.

The United States has had a Democrat president and majority Democrat Senate and majority Democrat House for 524 days.

My desire in running for County Board is to give voters an actual choice on the ballot. For too long, St. Clair county voters have not had a choice: Republicans opted to suffer under the status quo rather than run for office. This year, the far-left, Marxist, authoritarian take-over of the Democrat party prompted me "to be the change."

If you don't want more of the same policies you see consuming Illinois and our country, vote Republican.

If you want independent, non-establishment, accountable representation on the county board, vote Cary Mathews.

Today, we celebrate a small win; tomorrow, a new challenge awaits.
